The impact of digital fatigue in the educational system

The impact of digital fatigue in the educational system | Wellbeing - a student focus for schools | Scoop.it
Everyone involved in teaching and learning online should learn to recognize the signs of digital fatigue early on, to reverse its consequences and limit its damage

Tina Jameson's insight:
Added this to our 'Wellbeing' board, as I think this is an important issue facing both students and staff - the serious risk of burnout from too much screen time.  While the article focuses on the issue as a 'remote learning' issue - I believe the impact is still significant within an in-school environment as the use of technology in learning consistently increases.

The article does not adequately address what the 'signs' are - but does give a valuable 'prompt' for our consideration of this issue.

Digital Fatigue is a fallout of excessive dependence on digital or learning platforms. Its symptoms, treatment and causes need to be studied in great detail.

Tina Jameson's insight:
A (potentially) soothing soundscape of background noise to calm your classroom.  Some good 'free' choices that you can combine and alter the intensities of - probably worth experimenting to see what works best in different situations.

Great for background to story telling or just helping with concentration.
