The company says it will trace the source of wood-based fabrics, like viscose and rayon, used in its products, and will eliminate sources connected with rainforest destruction and human rights violations. The new policy will apply across its operations as Ralph Lauren “continues to work on its framework for tracking, assessing and developing purchasing guidelines for the raw materials used in its products.”

..sugar sustainability is below the radar in confectionery as NGOs have not taken as strong a stance as with other commodities, choosing instead to focus on the sugar health debate.
“I don’t think the confectionery industry has grasped this yet,” said Usher, Bonsucro Chief Executive. “It’s the largest agricultural commodity that no-one cares about. It’s ignored and that’s something we are trying to put right.”

Great to see companies such as Ferrero, Mars, Nestlé and Mondelez actively engaged to source sustainably from developing countries.
