Sharing your thoughts/ideas/progress on social media is very useful to grab attention from a large number of similar interest persons over the globe. Twitter is a very powerful social platform which can now be integrated into Moodle by using a new Block plugin named “Twitter Feed” which is developed by Andrew Davidson.
Add twitter feeds to your Moodle course using Twitter feed block plugin #MoodlePluginsThe twitter feed block can display the twitter feeds from a single twitter handle in your Moodle course and the plus point with this block is easily stylable markup. To enable the twitter block to contact the twitter API you will need to set up an application for twitter to use. So, first you need to create a Twitter App here and then provide the Consumer Key, Consumer Secret, Access Token, and an Access Token Secret from Twitter App into the Twitter Feed block settings.
You can download your copy of the Twitter Feed block from the Moodle plugins database here. The block is compatible for Moodle 2.7+ websites.
When I tested the block on my Moodle 2.9 local development server, the block installed without any hassles. And after getting the tokens and secrets from Twitter App, it worked like a charm. The plugin allows you to set the number of tweets to be displayed. However, it is not showing any images in the feed and currently only one twitter handle is supported.
