Information and digital literacy in education via the digital path

Jisc board member Professor Robin Baker OBE is director and CEO of Ravensbourne, a specialist higher education institution (HEI) in London, focusing on digital media and design. He has a long history of championing inclusion in education and using digital technology to engage students. Jisc Inform spoke with him about how he sees his role as Ravensbourne’s director in delivering access for all.What do you see your role to be in delivering access for all?

We have very good access rates, with about 67% in terms of our current student communities classified as being from disadvantaged backgrounds. This pretty much reflects the broader profile of young people across our catchment area in East and South East London.
